The RWC is pleased to announce that Justin Mata has been selected to fill the role of Transport Network Specialist. He has worked in the Radio Shop since 2015 as a radio tech, radio network engineer, and radio network administrator. He is highly regarded for his teamwork and ability to provide solutions to the most complex technical issues. Justin will play an integral role in helping the RWC overcome future challenges.
The RWC is extremely proud to announce that John Sater, RWC Wireless Transport Systems Lead, was just presented with the City of Phoenix Employee Excellence Award for 2021. This award is given to teams and individuals that solve an extraordinary problem and/or achieved a significantly difficult goal. Out of more than 530 nominations, Mr. Sater was one of only six (6) employees chosen for this recognition by the City Manager.
Mr. Sater and his team are responsible for the operations and maintenance for the RWC, supporting more than 40,000 radios and 23 Member agencies. When faced with a mandate from Motorola, to change the underlying technology that connects the Network, John Sater singlehandedly redesigned the entire network to utilize the new transport technology—done without impacting the users of this critical public safety network. Mr. Sater developed a detailed migration plan, which the team is currently executing.
The RWC would like to join with the City of Phoenix in recognizing the incredible work done by Mr. Sater. The Cooperative and all our Members are very lucky to have mission oriented proactive individuals like him on board. On behalf of our staff we want to say thank you for your work and congratulations!
